       全世界的游客都喜欢看一个国家的传统建筑，在中国一样。看着中国各城市新建的建筑，我真是叹为观止，每年都有新的不同的建筑！不瞒你说，我这么说不是夸中国，而是批评我自己的国家知道吗！伦敦当然有几个好看的高楼，但建设的时间好长，成本高得很，大部分的时候会超过预算！想了解英国建设行业的情况，就看看我们新建的高铁。。。哦，还没好，忘了。改话题吧。

 

People who travel around the world always enjoy seeing the traditional buildings of the country that they are visiting. And in that respect, China is no different! But I also often stand looking in awe at the new buildings that are popping up in China’s cities every year. The speed of construction here really makes Britain look slow sometimes. London of course has beautiful new buildings, but in general new builds across Britain take so bloody long to be built, and the costs are so high. If you’re trying to get a grasp of the speed of construction in Britain, just look at our new high speed railway line… Oh wait… 

 

 

       如果我明天回国等一年再回北京，我估计天际线完全变了。我已经离开了我老家10多年，天际线就那样，跟我离开的时候一模一样。还好我老家狼队比以前厉害多了（谢谢中国投资）。

 

If I went back to Britain tomorrow and didn’t return to Beijing for a year, I reckon the skyline would have changed dramatically by the time I came back. I’ve already been away from Britain for more than 10 years, and the skyline in my home city is pretty much the same as when I first left. At least my football team is a lot better now (thank you Chinese investment).

 

 

       在全球二十大摩天大楼排行中，中国占了一多半。但因为中国的摩天大楼那么多，所以谁都可以找一个然后上去拍好看的素材，是不是！2007年，我第一年在中国，我的头一直在往上看。过了十一年，天天在北京经常看到摩天大楼，好像已经习惯了。想找一找新鲜的味道，想找一找从来没看过的建筑。然后有一天我妈突然发给我英国报纸的报道，关于一个在上海的建筑，世界上第一个这种建筑，就叫摩地大楼！这个词是真的吗？不管了，想去看看！

 

Amongst the the world’s top 20 tallest buildings, more than half are in China! But because there are so many skyscrapers here, literally anyone can find one and go up to the top and film beautiful footage. In 2007, during my first year in China, I was pretty much constantly looking upwards towards the sky. But after 11 years of seeing Beijing’s skyscrapers on a daily basis, I’ve kind of got used to them. And seeing as I like to try new things, I wanted to find something that I’ve never seen before. A few months ago I got an email from my mom. She’d attached a newspaper report about a building in Shanghai that was a world first! A ground-scraper! I’m pretty sure that isn’t even a word, but whatever, I’m going!
